THOMAS WILLIAM GARSON, 66 ROCKFORD - Thomas William Garson, 66, passed away peacefully in his home on September 28, 2013. He was born on March 4, 1947, in Oakland, CA, to Kenneth and Marie (Glassman) Garson. The oldest of three boys, Tom and his brothers relocated to Sheridan, WY, to live with his Aunt Marge and Uncle Pat Jacobson after the loss of their parents when their plane went down on a mercy mission to Mexico. Tom began his career with the City of Rockford, Public Works Water Division as an engineering draftsman. After 32 years of service, Tom retired in 2007 as the Assistant Superintendent of Distribution. Tom had an adventurous spirit, evidenced by his involvement in drag racing as a youth, his enjoyment of camping and fishing, and his passion for world travel. He was fond of jazz and blues music and liked to golf and play tennis.
