VICTOR BREDESON, 90 BELOIT, WIS. - Victor Bredeson, 90, of Beloit, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at home. He was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Lafayette County, son of Martin and Caroline (Pederson) Bredeson. He attended schools in Argyle, Wis. Victor was a veteran of the U.S. Army; he served during the invasion of the Philippines and was wounded during the war. He married Rose Marie Johnson on Aug. 1, 1948, in Yellowstone Church, Blanchardville, Wis. Victor worked in the chemistry labs of Gunite in Rockford, Ill., for 13 years and Beloit Corporation from 1959 until 1984. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher more than 40 years. Victor enjoyed golfing and was an avid Cubs fan. Survivors include wife, Rose Marie "Toots" Bredeson of Beloit; children, Kent (Trudy) Bredeson of Onalaska, James (Cheryl Becker) Bredeson of Madison and Susan (Roy) Swanson of Rockford; grandchildren, Garrett Bredeson of Nashville, Tenn., Alyssa Bredeson of Onalaska, Kenneth Swanson of Rockford, Amy Meinholdt of Madison, Holly Viren of Rockford and Cassie Swanson of Machesney Park, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kylie and Kamden Meinholdt and Harrison Viren; and brother, Gus Bredeson of Blanchardville. He was predeceased by parents; eight brothers, Bjarne, Louie, Maurice, Laurence, Melvin, Henry, Alvin and Robert; three sisters, Mable Campbell, Helen Bredeson and Clara Rundle. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the Yellowstone Lutheran Church, 4472 Saints Road, Blanchardville, with Pastor Dan Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Cemetery, Blanchardville. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, and from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at the church.
