Virgil Hayenga

VIRGIL HAYENGA, 72 MACHESNEY PARK - Virgil Hayenga, 72, of Machesney Park, was called home to God on Thursday, May 5, 2011. Virgil was born Dec. 26, 1938. Veteran of the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a family man. He worked at Mattison Machine Works for more than 30 years. Virgil enjoyed hunting and fishing and his hobbies were trains and ships. He lived most of his life in the Rockford area. Survived by siblings, Nancy Master, Linda Durn, Cindy Hayenga and Ronnie Hayenga; children, Sheila (Aaron) Greenlee, Bonnie (Ed) Lambert Inspeness, Brad Hayenga and baby Virgil Hayenga Jr.; grandchildren, Christina, Eric, Kirk, Amber and Kody; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Victoria, Breena, Kennedy, Sofia, Kaleb and Madison; and many extended family members. Predeceased by father, Edward Hayenga; mother, Alice Martin; wife, Karen Head Hayenga; and sisters, Bonnie Hayenga, June Tucker, Beverly Jansen and Rose Hollenbaugh. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Service at 5 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 5403 N. Second St., Loves Park.
