WAYNE T. MCKENNA, 67 MACHESNEY PARK - Wayne T. McKenna, 67, of Machesney Park, died Monday, September 16, 2013, at home. Born Aug. 24, 1946, in Beaver Falls, Penn., son of Harry P. and Virginia (Lorey) McKenna. Graduated Rock Valley College. Attended Arizona State University. Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Married Michelle Day on May 27, 1978, in Loves Park. Retired from Estwing Corp. Past president of Rock Valley College Vets Club. Former chairman of R.V.C. Easter Egg Hunt. Member of Viet NOW, National Association of Collegiate Veterans and Viet Nam Veterans of America. Volunteered with B.R.E.W., Winnebago County Animal Services, Lost Dogs of Illinois, St. Bridget Catholic Church, Circle of Change and V.A. Boy Scout Leader with Troop 32. Survivors include wife, Michelle; sons, Patrick and Scott (fiancée, Amber Bianchi) McKenna; brothers, David (Phillis) and Harry (Linda) McKenna; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and a sister. Special thanks to Darla at Peak Home Health, Linda and Della at Home Instead, and Heartland Hospice. Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 19, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9 a.m. to service time. Inurnment in Davis Cemetery.
