WILEY E. RICKER, 90 ROCKFORD - Wiley E. Ricker, 90, of Rockford, Illinois died 2:39 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, in his daughter's home in Roscoe, with family by his bedside. Wiley was born on March 31, 1923, in Peach Orchard, Arkansas. He was the son to Wiley and Mae (Vallance) Ricker. Wiley was employed as a mechanic by Geraghty Forklift Company in Rockford. He was very proud to serve in the United States Army, receiving a Purple Heart for being wounded in action in World War II. He loved people and people loved him too. He loved Dairy Queen, and the donut shop. He enjoyed camping in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing country music, and dancing. He loved to play his guitar and cherished his times with his family. He loved his kids, and grandkids, but most importantly he loved his mom and dad dearly along with his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his 4 sons, Vernon (Cassie), Roger (Kimmy), Leonard and Claytie; 4 daughters, Bonnie, Debra (Butch), Judy and Becky Mae (Jeff); brothers, Bud (Ada), Dolan (Lynette), Sonny and Dean; sister, Maxine (Wayne); many nieces and nephews; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, David; sister, Wilma (his twin), Leora, Goldie and Virginia. Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 North Mulford Road, with the Reverend Dr. Ron Myer officiating.
