WILLIAM SHELBY HALL, 91 MOUNT MORRIS - William Shelby Hall, 91, of Mount Morris passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, Ill. Bill was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Warbranch, Ky., son of William Lloyd and Hilda Linnea Forberg Hall. He married Marjorie L. Halladay; she predeceased him. Then he married Doris Gerke; she also predeceased him. Bill was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He worked as a draftsman and engineer for 44 years at Greenlee Brothers in Rockford. Bill was a member of the Air Squadron with Tebala Shriners, member of E.F.W. Ellis Masonic Lodge, former member of Bel Mar Country Club, Rockford Fluid Power Society and the NRA. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and marksman. Bill is survived by children, Alan S. (Carol) Hall and Susanne Louise (Gary) Edgren; siblings, Lloyd, Babe Mae, Virginia and Carl "George;" six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way. Bill was also predeceased by parents; one sister, Ruth; and one brother, Burleigh. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Visitation from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
