William McKenna Obituary

WILLIAM F. MCKENNA JR., 79 HARRISON - William F. McKenna Jr., 79, of Harrison died Sunday, May 29, 2011, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born June 16, 1931, in Providence, R.I., the son of William and Doris (Byron) McKenna Sr. Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. Married Freda L. Wright on Oct. 17, 1950, in Lawton, Okla.; she died in 1979. Owner of Macline Engineering for 46 years. Past master of star in East Masonic Lodge 166 and member of Porsche Club of America. He enjoyed racing his Porsche and woodworking. Survivors include daughters, Maxine (Melvin) Krienke and Susan (Jimmy) Clendening, both of Loves Park, and Kathleen McKenna of Belvidere; grandchildren, Christopher Giovingo of Rockford and Miranda Lewis of Poplar Grove; great-grandson, Gavin Lewis; sister, Doris Colannino of Rhode Island; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave.; Father Brian A. Olsen will officiate. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 6, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with Masonic service at 7:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to OSF Cancer Center.
