WILLIAM ROBERT PECKHAM, 84 ROCKTON - William Robert Peckham, 84, of Rockton died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, in his home. Born June 16, 1926, in Beloit, Wis., the son of Robert and Mary (Diderich) Peckham. He was a lifelong resident of the Rockton area. Married Phyllis Sutherland in Beloit. He was employed as a machinist by Fairbanks for 42 years. Veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. Member of the Quarter Century Club. Graduated from South Beloit High School. Survivors include sons, Thomas Peckham of South Beloit and Charles Peckham of Rockford; daughter, Lynn Harrington of Fox Lake; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Janie (Bob) Clark of Clinton, Wis. Predeceased by his parents; wife; daughter-in-law, Linda; sister, Ruth; and granddaughter, Rebekah. Graveside ceremonies at 1 p.m. Monday, May 23, in Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West St., Rockton. Cremation rites were accorded. The family was assisted by McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton.
