CLARENDON 'TAD' MOWER JR., 88 ROCKFORD - Clarendon "Tad" Mower Jr., 88, of Rockford, died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, in Provena St. Anne Center. Born May 17, 1921, in Rockford, the son of Clarendon and Mildred (Dellicker) Mower Sr. Married Alice F. Denny on Oct. 2, 1948, in Erlanger, Ky.; she died Sept. 12, 2000. Tad was a real estate developer and managing partner of Mower Bros., Inc. One of Tad's and Alice's greatest joys was to hop in the car and go traveling together. Survived by children, Clarendon Mower III of Rockford and Susan M. Ford of Waukesha, Wis.; grandchildren, Katherine M. Ford, Elizabeth (Jason) Garcia and Rebecca Ford; great-grandson, Devon Garcia; brother, Penfield (Gloria) Mower of Goodyear, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Ruth Ellen Mower; numerous nieces and nephews; and loving caregiver, Sharyn Booth. Predeceased also by brother, David. The family would like to thank VNA Hospice and the nursing staff at Provena St. Anne for their loving care. Service at noon Monday, Nov. 16, in Olson Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., with visitation from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Private family burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Crusader Clinic, 1200 W.
