HENRINE 'RINE' HOPSON, 73 ROCKFORD - Henrine "Rine" Hopson, 73, of Rockford, departed this earthly life Friday, February 21, 2014, in her home, after a long illness. She was born Jan. 13, 1941, in Vance, MS, the daughter of Fred and Mary Webb. Henrine lived 35 years in Rockford, coming from Chicago, IL. She married Willie Hopson, December 1, 1956, in Mississippi, he preceded her in death. She was employed as a drill operator, 17 years before retiring. Henrine was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the Senior Usher Board and on the Mothers Board. She attended schools in Mississippi. Henrine leaves to cherish many loving memories, daughter, Dorothy Scott; son, Willie (Robin) Hopson Jr.; five grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; three step daughters, Ruth Sanders, Gloria Jones, and Shatika Forment; two sisters, Laura Smith and Gladys (Buck) Walker; brother, John H. Simmons; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; 3 sisters; and 1 brother. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2919 19th St., with Pastor Louis E. Malone officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State Rockford, IL.
