CLARENCE LAVERNE BURDICK, 84 ROCKFORD - Clarence Laverne Burdick, 84, of Rockford passed from this earth into God's hands Monday evening, April 7, 2014, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, after a long illness. Born Aug. 29, 1929, in rural La Farge, Wis., son of Fred and Rachel (Walling) Burdick. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Married Priscilla Marlene Hanko. Formerly employed by J. I. Case Co. until April 1957, Walts Skelly from Nov. 1959 until April 1960, Chas Ind from April 1960 till spring 1968, Zaugg from May 1968 till Aug. 1969, Chas Ind from Aug. 1970 until June 1974, and Rockford Blacktop from June 1974 until retiring in Oct. 1992. After retirement he worked at Rockford Auto Auction until early 2013. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Priscilla; sons, Richard (Michelle Lien) of Elgin and Stephen (Diane DeMeuleneare) of Columbus, Ohio, and James (Jeannie Hansen) Burdick of Beloit, Wis.; daughters, JoAnne Augustine of Rockford, Konnie (Dallas) Heffrin of Rockford and Dawn (Bruce) Elliott of Marengo; grandchildren, Brian, Sean, David, John, Mathew, Paul, Stephanie and Sabrina Burdick, Ryan Swanson, Brittany McKone, Brooklyn Fashingbauer, Evan and Kenley Elliott; great-grandchildren, Christian, Conner and Caleb Burdick; brother, Lester Burdick of Fond du Lac, Wis. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Carl, Kenneth, Harold and Emmitt Burdick; sisters, Thelma Hintzpeter, Betty Swenson, Alice and Nellie. Service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
