JC 'JAY' ADDISON ROCKFORD - JC "Jay" Addison, of Rockford departed this earthly life Friday, April 11, 2014, in his home, after a long illness. He was born June 15, 1935, in West Point, MS; the son of Henry and Caroline Addison. JC lived in Rockford 59 years, coming from East Chicago, Indiana. He married the former Irma Rochelle Laster June 18, 1994, in Freeport, IL. JC was employed 27 years as a machinist by Twin Disc, and 17 years by Barnes International before retiring. JC was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He loved fishing, cooking and gardening. He attended schools in Mississippi and Indiana and training school in Rockford. JC leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife, Irma; two daughters, Veverly Rigsby and Peggy (Donald) Johnson; two sons, Glenn Addsion and Dennis (Lana) Addison; two stepsons, Donald (Angie) Jenkins and Daniel T. Jenkins; 14 grandchildren; 7 great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Jay Carl Addison; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Bethel Baptist Church, 724 Harrison Avenue, with Pastor Kerry L. Newborn officiating. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State St.
