CHARLES EULIS HUFF, 82 SPARTA, WI - Charles Eulis Huff, 82, of Sparta, WI, formerly of Roscoe, IL, died in his sleep Thursday, April 3, 2014, in the home he shared with his son and family. Born April 24, 1931, in Castlewood, VA, son of Vonder and Ammie (Hager) Huff. Married Joyce Helena Smith on Oct. 24, 1951, in Lebanon, VA, before moving to Rockford, IL, in 1955. Member of the Northern Illinois Fox & Coon Hunter's Association. Charlie left the coal mines of Virginia to become a master craftsman, working for and retiring from Hydro-Line Manufacturing after 40 years. He lost the "love of his life" when Helena died on Feb. 25, 1996. Survivors include daughter, Deretha "DeeDee" (Al) Cooper of Florissant, CO; son, Kevin (Melissa) Huff of Sparta, WI; grandchildren, Scott (Kari) Cooper, Amber (Kris) Koehler, Ryan Cooper, Kaitlynn and Daniel Huff; great-grandson, Cooper Koehler; sisters, Hazel Starr and Louise Barlow; special in-laws, Randolph and Edna Smith, Eunice (Smith) Zellner, Gerald Smith and Gary Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend and second son, Thomas Shewe; and special friend, Maria Grystak. Predeceased by parents; wife; special sister, Betty Ferrell; and brother, Everett Huff. Memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 21, at First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N.
