ELSIE (BECKWOLD) HALLDEN, 98 ROCKFORD - Elsie (Beckwold) Hallden, 98 years young, of Rockford, passed away peacefully while sitting in her very favorite chair wrapped in her "cuddlewrap" blanket on Sunday, May 4, 2014. Among her many activities she most enjoyed crocheting laprobes for veterans in V.A. hospitals and retirement centers, as well as caps and scarves for friends and relatives. An avid Bulls and Cubs fan, she was always "waiting for next year." She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son, Douglas of Colorado; grandson, David (Joanne) Hallden and great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Courtney, and Erica Lynn of New Brunswick, Canada. Predeceased by her siblings, Inger Gardner and Leif Beckwold. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, in Scandinavian Cemetery, 1700 Rural St., with Rev. Jay Quinn officiating.
