GLADYS E. VANGEISEN, 93 BELVIDERE - Gladys E. Vangeisen, 93, of Belvidere, died peacefully Monday, May 26, 2014, at Maplecrest Care Centre in Belvidere. She was born on June 22, 1920, in Woodstock, IL, daughter of George P. and Emma B. (Scott) Toomey. Gladys attended school at Saint James School in Belvidere. She married Leo R. Vangeisen on June 7, 1948. She was a homemaker that loved spending time with her family. Gladys enjoyed boating and going to the lake with her husband. Later in life, she enjoyed going to the VFW with friends. Family was very important to her, and she took a lot of pride in the fact that she was here to watch her grandchildren become adults; they will always have a memory of "Grandma Gladys." Gladys is loved and will be missed by her children, Gary (Karen) Vangeisen, Charles (Nita) Vangeisen, Patricia (Charles Cusumano) Eklund, Jean (Mike) Schwebke; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Vangeisen, James (Megan) Vangeisen, Jodie (John) Rogers, Chad (Paige) Schwebke, Jason Schwebke, Stuart Schwebke, Brandon Schwebke; great-grandchildren, Kayla Vangeisen, Jade Vangeisen, Hannah, Olivia, Isaac Rogers. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; brother, George Toomey. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 West Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, with Rev. Allan Buss officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the .
