HAZEL JEAN DOMSKI, 88 ROCKFORD - Hazel Jean Domski, 88, of Rockford, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at St. Anne Center. Born August 19, 1925, in Rockford, Illinois to Emery and Helen (Baker) Palmer. Attended Rockford West High School and St. Anthony School of Nursing. Entered nurses training as a cadet nurse during WWII. Married John Domski on June 28, 1947, in Rockford. Employed as a Registered Nurse in many different capacities, lastly retiring from Rockford Surgical Services. Member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and of St. Stanislaus women's league, a charter member of Visiting Nurses Auxiliary and Winnebago Child Protection Agency. Hazel was a caring person with a beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor who deeply loved her family, friends and faith. Survivors include children, J. Craig (Barb) of Omaha, NE, Steve (Sandy) Torrance, CA, Daniel (Michelene) of Rockford, David (Marvel) of Long Beach, CA, Lori (Jeff) Swanson of Belvidere and Lisa (Todd) Schroeder of Winnebago; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Chet Dmochowski and sister-in-law, Carol Dmochowski; several nephews and dear nieces, Pam and Debbie. Predeceased by her husband, John in 2010, and grandson, David Swanson in 2010. Special thanks to the staff at Provena St. Anne's for their loving care, especially Kris, Amy, Amanda, and so many others. Also the staff at Northern Illinois Hospice. Funeral Service 11 am Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
