DONALD R. CHRISTENSON, 82 ROCKFORD - Donald R. Christenson, 82, of Rockford, died at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in his home. Born Sept. 12, 1931, in Blooming Prairie, Minn., the son of Jens Axel and Alma (Jepson) Christenson. Served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He married Linda Perry Nov. 26, 1965, in Albert Lea, Minn. Donald worked at Chrysler Corp. and Camcar. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rock River Valley Gem & Mineral Society, Forest City Sams, and Blackhawk Woodcarvers. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Tanya Hanson, Rustee Peterson, and Andrea (Raul) Escobar, all of Rockford; grandchildren, Arica, Kayla, Cortney, Mikey, and Bella; great grandchildren, Santana and Leonidas; best friends, Becky and Steve McKillip and the zoo crew; and brothers, Marvin, Dallas, and Bruce Christenson. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 N. First St., with Rev. Jay Quinn and Pastor Megan Vaughan officiating. Entombment in Sunset Mausoleum. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, in Olson Funeral &Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C.
