MARY JANE DIXON, 80 ROSCOE - Mary Jane Dixon, 80, of Roscoe, died July 15, 2014. She was born January 3, 1934, in Caledonia, the daughter of Fred and Mina (Goodwin) Ball. Mary Jane taught in the Beloit school district for many years. She was also involved in the North Boone Christian Food Pantry. Mary Jane enjoyed bowling, bird watching, reading, traveling, and loved to dance. She was a member at Hunter United Methodist Church. Mary Jane is survived by her son, David (Lenka) Dixon; grandson, Alexander Dixon; sister, Vera (Larry) Meyer; nieces, Lori (Jeff) Edwards, Suzanne (Dan) Calhoon, and Margie Meyer; nephews, Tim (Pat) Meyer; great- nieces and nephews, Jenny, Erika, Jake, Zachary, Erin, Jared, and Joel; lifelong friend, Dori; and many fellow teaching friends at Beloit School District. Predeceased by her parents; brother, David Ball; sister, Nancy Ball. Special thanks to Amanda Kwiek for the loving nursing care. A memorial service to honor Mary Jane and celebrate her life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in Hunter United Methodist Church, 3315 Hunter Road, Caledonia, IL 61011 - on Hunter Road one mile west of state highway 76 or eight miles east of U.S. Highway 251. Memorials can be made to State Line Literacy Council, North Boone Christian Food Pantry, and Beloit Hospice.
