REV. FRANK SIDNEY MOYER III, 84 ROCKFORD - The Reverend Frank Sidney Moyer III, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the age of 84. He was born July 28, 1930, in Oak Park, Illinois. He graduated from Oak Park High School, 1948; bachelor's degree from Carthage College, 1952; master of divinity degree, 1956, and master's degree in psychology and religion, 1962, both from the Lutheran School of Theology. After ordination in 1957, he founded the Pastoral Care Department and began a Clinical Pastoral Education program for the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and Hospital in Omaha. In 1966, he was asked to come to Rockford to develop similar programs at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He retired as the Director of Pastoral Services at RMH in 1990. He then founded the Common Boundary Wellness Center with his wife, Renee McArdle. He served as a Corporate Consultant on Ethics for Rockford Health System, taught Ethics at the U of I College of Medicine in Rockford, and served as an interim pastor for parishes as far south as Monmouth. He is survived by his wife, Renee McArdle; sister, Louise Culotta of St. Petersburg, FL; seven children, Michael (Jill) Moyer of Austin, TX, Mark (Laura) Moyer of Chicago, IL, Patricia (Mark) Huebschman of Stuttgart, Germany, Brian Barrett Sr. of Loves Park, Jennifer (Larry) Pickar of Hamburg, PA, Bridgette (Marty) Berek of Brookfield, IL, Allison Miller (Michael James) of Los Angeles, CA; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other extended family; and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014, in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1826 North Rockton Avenue. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until time of service at the church.
