JAMES A. MUEHLENBEIN, 74 ROCKTON - James A. Muehlenbein, 74, of Rockton, IL, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in his home. He was born September 13, 1939, in Chicago, IL, the son of Anton and Teresa (Drovitz) Muehlenbein. James was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Elmhurst, IL. James was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as an aircraft technician and ballistic missile specialist. He married Carol Wavak on February 23, 1963, in Villa Park, IL. James was formerly employed as the Vice- President of Flick-Reedy Miller Power of Bensenville, IL, and later as a small business entrepreneur as President of Novel Products, Rockton, IL, retiring in 2004. James enjoyed fishing, wood carving, gardening and camping. He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Society, Kiwanis, and a 3rd Degree member of St. Peters Knights of Columbus Council #8021. James was also a member of St. Pius X, Lombard, IL, and St. Peter Catholic Church, South Beloit, IL. Survivors include his wife, Carol Muehlenbein of Rockton, IL; children, Mary (Nerino) Petro of Belvidere, IL, David (Shannon) Muehlenbein of Machesney Park, IL, and Joy Muehlenbein of Costa Mesa, CA. He was predeceased by his parents, and sister, Elaine Muehlenbein. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014, in St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd., South Beloit, IL, with Fr. Steven Sabo officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery, Rockton, IL. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service in the church. Memorials may be given in his name to St. Vincent De Paul.
