Michael Mundy Obituary
Michael E. Mundy, 63, of Belvidere, IL, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was born March 27, 1953 in Belvidere, IL. The son of Leon and Patricia (Johnston) Mundy. He graduated from Belvidere High School. He worked in Shipping and Receiving for Marshall Fields for 28 years. Mike was a member of Flora Grange, Capron Grange, Pomona Grange, and was on the Boone County Fair Grounds Board of Directors. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his nieces and nephews on his brother's farm. He is loved and will be missed by his brother, Ellis (Dawn) Mundy; sister, Pam Mundy; sister-in-law, Janet Mundy; niece, Heather (Daniel) Travis; nephew, Timmy Mundy; great-nieces and great-nephew, Cheyenne, Morgan, Axel, Makayla Travis; great-niece or great-nephew on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Ross and Timothy Mundy.
There will be a visitation Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Belvidere Funeral Home Inc. in Belvidere, IL. A service will begin at 7 p.m. At Mike's request he asks that everyone please dress casual. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the family's name. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.belviderefh.com.

I enjoyed seeing and talking with Mike every year when I came down to volunteer at the Boone county fair. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends. Sorry, I will not be able to attend his funeral.

Mike was a gentle man with a giving heart and a wonderful smile. He made our community a better place by his many contributions and life in Belvidere. God speed until we meet again my friend.
