DONALD C. WATTS SR., 72 LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER AND PAPA DUCK ROCKFORD - Donald C. Watts Sr., 72, passed away at 4:55 a.m. April 15, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Born Oct. 9, 1937, in Huntington, W.Va., son of Harry Franklin and Goldie Mae Watts. He married the love of his life, Janice Dunaway, on April 22, 1967. Retired from Rockford Powertrain (mechanics) in 1994. His enjoyment was playing bingo at Ken Rock Community Center, going to the casinos with his wife and spending time outdoors, especially with his grandchildren. He took pride in his yard work but his main focus was watching and spending time with the grandchildren, whether it be watching them play softball, dance, gymnastics, play the piano or just being with them. Active member of the Forest City Post Polio Group. Survivors include wife, Jan; children, Gena (Jay) Hawthorne of Rockford, Donny (fianc‚e, Char Hicks) Watts Jr. of Monroe Center, Susan (Steve) Gorman of Belvidere, Patricia Smith of Dixon, Donna (Rick) Dailey, Tamara Watts Compton and Pamela Watts Compton, all of Rockford, and Bobby Compton of Plano; special brother and best friend, Harry (Linda) Watts Sr.; 15 grandchildren; 151/2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a guy's best friend, his dog, "Precious Joy." Predeceased by parents; brothers, Frank, Bill and twin brother, Ronnie; and sisters, Lorraine and Martha. Service at 2 p.m. Monday, April 19, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N.
