ALEX P. GUSTOf, 88 ROCKTON - Alex P. Gustof, 88, of Rockton died at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at home. Born July 24, 1922, in Philadelphia, the son of Alex and Mary (Beckshy) Gustof. Lived in Rockton, coming here from Rockford. Married the former Donna Henderson on May 10, 1945, in Rockford. Employed as a beverage distributor by Hamm's Beer for 31 years. Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army as a medical tech for a light tank battalion. Graduated from West High School in Rockford, the first graduating class in 1941. Al did many things in a happy retirement. He enjoyed traveling the western United States; Las Vegas was his favorite destination. Survivors include daughter, Dawn Cummings of Rockton; granddaughter, Amber (Phil) Reynolds of Rockford; grandson, Brian Cummings of Waukesha, Wis.; granddaughter, Elizabeth Cummings of Waukesha; great-granddaughters, Angel (Brian) and Riley (Amber); and great-grandson, Devon. Predeceased by wife, Donna in 1996, and son, Gordy in 2002. Graveside ceremonies at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, in Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West St., Rockton. Cremation rites to be accorded.
