WHITNEY ANN PLUMB, 22 ROCKFORD - Whitney Ann Plumb, 22, was born March 30, 1988. She was the only child born to David and Cindy (Smith) Plumb. During her early child and pre-teen years, Whitney participated in Brownies, Girl Scouts, Awana, Salvation Army Summer Camp, Lockwood Park Horse Camp, soccer, basketball and pompoms in addition to other various school and church activities. She enjoyed watching Disney movies, fixing her makeup and drawing, coloring and crafts. Whitney attended a New Year's Eve party in 2005, where she tried heroin. She did not realize that one decision would lead her to a path of heroin addiction. Since then, Whitney spent time in and out of treatment centers and correctional facilities. Whitney received her GED through the Regional Learning Center. She was involved in AA, NA and jail/prison ministry. Whitney had a heart full of compassion and an incredible sense of humor. She had a special connection with children and a love of animals. She died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, in Waukegan from an accidental drug overdose. Survived by parents, David (Rebecca Gould) Plumb and Cindy (Geno Cuppini) Plumb; stepsister and brothers, Nikki, Isaiah and Jonah; grandparents, grandma Pat and Len Musselman, Roy "Papa Tuckey" Smith and Edward "Poppy" and Faye Ball; uncle, Kevin and aunt, Erin Plumb; cousins, Justin, Emily, Rory and Danny Plumb; numerous great- aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Predeceased by grandparents, grandpa Dale Plumb and grandma Alice Ball. Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 N. Mulford Road. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, in the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. Tuesday to time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family or an organization of your choice that assists in helping children or a jail/prison ministry.
