Obituary Condolences

DORIS E. SHERWOOD, 70 ROSCOE - Doris E. Sherwood, 70, of Roscoe died at 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, in her home. Born April 30, 1941; the daughter of Herman and Alice (Thompson) Helgerson. She married Richard W. Sherwood on Aug. 20, 1960, in Mt. Sterling, Wis.; he died March 14, 2003. She worked as a parish administrator for 30 years at St. Mark Lutheran Church and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. In later years, she enjoyed being part of the lunch crew at Roscoe Beef A Roo. Doris enjoyed quilting and sewing, crafts, playing piano and singing in the church choir at Cross and Crown Lutheran Church. Active member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church and former member of Living Christ Lutheran Church. Survived by children, William (Susan) Sherwood of New Milford, Kari (Walter) Kalsow of Dayton, Minn., and Jon Sherwood of Loves Park; grandchildren, Ryan, Melissa (Jason), Leah-Ashley, Erica, Laura and Sarah; great-granddaughter, Janyce-Rose; great-grandson, Jason Jr.; brother, James (Deb) Helgerson of Mt. Sterling, Wis.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased also by infant brother and sister, Roland and Harriet. Service at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, 7404 Elevator Road, Roscoe, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.; the Rev. Dr. John Heins will officiate. Burial at a later date in Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Lupus Foundation of America- Illinois Chapter, 525 W.
