STEVEN ROSS 'PO BOY' HORTON ROCKFORD - Steven Ross "Po Boy" Horton of Rockford departed this earthly life Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Amberwood Nursing Home, after a short illness. Born Oct. 25, 1958, the son of Dezzie Horton and Henry Malone. He was employed as a custodian by the Rockford Board of Education and several years at Liebovich Steel and Aluminum Co. Steven was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Jefferson High School. Steven leaves to cherish many memories, sons, Steve (Lindy) Sockwell, Brandon Moore and Michael Moore; three grandchildren; mother, Dezzie Baker; brothers, Willie (Cynthia) Jones, Mike Jones and Derrick (Tracey) Baker; special family friends, Paulette, Jeff and Donald Moore, Estelle Dowthard, Deangela Simmons, Matilda, Gregory and Alex Dowthard; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by sister, Victoria Baker; and maternal grandparents, Robert Horton and Mary Malone. Service at noon Saturday, May 26, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2919 19th St., with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service; Pastor Louis E. Malone will officiate. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State St.
