HENRY STEPHEN PARIS ROCKFORD - Henry Stephen Paris of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born Aug. 2, 1930, at Saint Anthony's Hospital, Rockford, to Joseph and Catherine (Noble) Paris. Henry grew up on the west side and attended West High School, graduating in 1948. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served during the Korean War as a staff sergeant maintaining DUKWs, military amphibious vehicles. In 1954, he married Colleen Claire Ryan of Omaha, Neb. In 1960, he and his partner, Roy Blomberg, opened Plaza Auto Clinic on 22nd Street where he worked and managed until his retirement in 1995. Survived by wife, Colleen; sons, Patrick (Heidi), Joseph (Carol), Steven (Maureen), Daniel (Mary), Thomas and William; daughter, Colleen "Kelly" (Michael) Wielgus; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Paris Brown; and brother, Gerald. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, and from 9 a.m. Saturday to time of service at the church.
