JEANNIE MARIE HAYES, 29 LOVING DAUGHTER, SISTER, AUNT AND FRIEND ROCKFORD - Jeannie Marie Hayes, 29 of Rockford died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Feb. 15, 1983, to Philip and Claire (Deters) Hayes. Attended Penn High School where she was a member of the marching band in Mishawaka, Ind., and was a graduate of Marquette University, Milwaukee. After college she interned at WNDU in South Bend, Ind., and WISN in Milwaukee. Jeannie was hired as a news anchor in Rockford for WREX where she had been for seven years, co-hosted the Morning Show for B103 since February, and was very proud to have worked for Harpo Studios for eight years doing freelance work with Oprah's studios. Jeannie was currently writing a children's book that she was going to dedicate to her niece. She was a wonderful and beautiful person with a fun loving personality, always had lots of energy and had a funny sense of humor. Survivors include her parents, Philip and Claire Hayes; sisters, Kristen (Brian) Nolan and Lisa Hayes, both of South Bend; paternal grandfather, James (Jeannie) Hayes; niece, Tess Nolan; several aunts, uncles and cousins in Missouri and Wisconsin; and all of her friends and co-workers. Predeceased by maternal grandparents, A.J. (Jean) Deters and paternal grandmother, Jean Hayes. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her WREX and B103/Maverick Media family and the Rockford community for the love and support they have shown. Funeral Mass took place Saturday, Nov. 10, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Additional services will be held in Granger, Ind., near South Bend next week. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Riverside Community Bank, 6855 E. Riverside Blvd., Rockford, IL 61114, for funds to support Jeannie's community causes.
