CHARLES G. CAYA, 82 POPLAR GROVE - Charles G. Caya, 82, of Poplar Grove passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012. Born Nov. 20, 1929, in Chicago; the son of Arthur and Katie (Myers) Caya; married Lois Sundling. He served our country in the Army in the Korean War, and worked for the Chicago Board of Education for 25 years. He was a sweet, kind and generous man who loved and took care of his family. He was an avid Bears, Blackhawks and Cubs fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lois; son, Gregg (Karen) Caya; daughter, Carylynn Steiner; grandchildren, Nicholas (Corina), Lauren and Timothy; great-grandchildren, Talayna and Caylor; and longtime best friends, Edward "Biff" Kaczmarek and Richard "Red" Czerniak; and a loving uncle, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents and 12 siblings. Memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 N.
