HAROLD M. COX, 74 ROCKFORD - Harold M. Cox, 74, of Rockford passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 16, 1938, in Weiner, Ark., the son of the late Lucien Alfred and Viola (Sargent) Cox. A lover of life, Harold enjoyed fishing tournaments with his son, Steven. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan. He owned Safford Signs before retiring in 2001, and then he worked for several years for Enterprise Rent-A-Car until June 2012. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cheryl; daughter, Cindi (Bo) Pittman; sons, Robert, Steven (Holly) and Cory (Karin); brothers, Delbert (Janiece) and Gerald (Janet); sisters, Marie Henderson, Wilma Hurley and Lois (Gil) Kratzner; grandchildren, Brianna, Brittany, Kitra, Kila, Hannah, Taylor, Lauren, Calvin, Karsen and London; and several great-grandchildren. Predeceased also by infant son, Anthony; brothers, Robert, Cecil, Leroy and John; and sister, Beatrice. Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
