CURTIS C. 'BUBBA' KASTEN, 48 CAPRON - Curtis C. "Bubba" Kasten, 48, of Capron, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born May 8, 1964, in Stoughton, Wis., son of Edwin and Joanne (Faber) Kasten. Married Pamela Thayer on May 25, 1991, in Harvard. Worked for Richco Plastics in Harvard doing plastic injection molding. He was a member of Capron United Methodist Church, where he was active in just about anything the church was involved in: youth group leader, praise and worship, a lay speaker, and Stephen's minister. He volunteered with the food pantry and loved to camp and fish at Boone Lake. Survivors include loving wife, Pam; son, John (Dawn) Woosley of Gahana, Ohio; daughters, Sheila Booher, Wendy Woosley and Andrea (Josh) Woosley, all of Rockford; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Mark (Sue) Kasten. Predeceased by parents. Graveside service at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Chemung-Dunham Cemetery, with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Capron United Methodist Church with the Rev. Susanne Wilczek officiating. Visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere. Memorials may be given to the family.
