VIVIAN S. JOHNSON, 93 ROCKFORD - Vivian S. Johnson, 93, of Rockford, died at 11 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in Alden Alma Nelson Manor. Born April 6, 1919, in Rockford; the daughter of John Gottfrid and Anna Sofia (Bostrom) Johnson. Graduate of Rockford High School, class of 1935. Vivian worked in the hydraulics division at Sundstrand Corp., for 34 years, retiring in 1981. Member of Unitarian Universalist Church, where she participated in the choir and was the treasurer for VSP at the church. She was a member of the International Organization for Good Templars, and in her younger years she enjoyed playing softball, golf, and bowling. Vivian was an avid reader, enjoyed politics, and loved to be with her family. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers, Ralph G., John E., and Mauritz Johnson. Memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in Unitarian Universalist Church, 4848 Turner St., with the Rev. Colleen McDonald officiating.
