Lillian Perrone Obituary

LILLIAN C. PERRONE, 90 ROCKFORD - Lillian C. Perrone, 90, of Rockford passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 5, 1923, in Rockford, the daughter of Eligio and Mary (Castelli) Castano. She married George A. Perrone on Feb. 15, 1942, in Rockford. George predeceased her in 1991. Lillian was a member of St. James Catholic Church, St. James Altar and Rosary and the Verdi Club Ladies Auxiliary. Lillian always put her family first. She loved her Italian heritage, whether she was baking Italian cookies or playing Bocce. She also enjoyed Bingo, the Chicago Cubs and Comcast Channel 47. She had a devotion to St. Jude and the Blessed Mother. Lillian also would donate her time making rosaries at St. Mary Church. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly (John) Johnson; sons, Paul and David (Brenda) Perrone; grandchildren, Andrea (Shawn) Burns, Tim Johnson, Melissa (Taylor) Dunn, Lisa (Mike) Falzone, Paula, Brittany and Kirsten Perrone; great-grandchildren, Connor, Alex, Ava Burns, Anthony, Caden Johnson, Nolan and Olivia Dunn; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Patric Fuller, Tara Denby and Chelsey; special friends, Steiner and Chris Loken and Brian Hodges. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, in St. James Catholic Church, Rockford, with Father David Beauvais officiating. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 3, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with rosary at 5:45 p.m. Visitation also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to be established by the family. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
