ROGER R. 'SKIP' ANDERSON, 81 BUFFALO, Wyo. - Roger R. "Skip" Anderson, 81, of Buffalo passed away Friday March 1, 2013, at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo. Roger was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Rockford, Ill., to Raymond E. and Lou M. (VanBloom) Anderson. He graduated from Rockford East High School and studied art at Bradley University. Roger was married to Elizabeth Monti and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. Upon returning, he served as an officer on the Rockford Police department for 11 years. Roger relocated to Colorado where he served as the Chief Marshall of Dolores County and owner of Remuda Art Gallery in Dolores, Colo. Later he was self-employed as a log home builder, and guide and outfitter in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. In 1996, Roger relocated to Buffalo and was married to Rita Jacobs. Roger was an accomplished artist. He bred and showed appaloosa horses and loved spending time in the mountains with his horses and his family. He is predeceased by parents, Raymond and Lou Anderson, and sister, Darlene Lennon of Rockford. Survived by wife, Rita of Buffalo; daughter, Tina Ree and husband, Glenn of Nixa, Mo.; sons, Monty Anderson and wife, Leslie of Ozark, Mo., and Will Anderson and wife, Mary of Roscoe, Ill; and five grandchildren. Service at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at Adams Funeral Home, Buffalo, Wyo. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to Skip Anderson memorial fund through Adams Funeral 351 N. Adams Ave., Buffalo, WY.
