JUANITA L. HENDRIX, 82 ROCKFORD - Juanita L. Hendrix, 82, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born on February 10, 1931, in Kansas City, Mo, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Morris) Dreis. She married Austin G. Hendrix in 1949, in Kansas City, MO., and they were happily married for 58 years until his death in 2007. They traveled across the country together in their motor home, belonged to the Collide-o-Scope Square Dancing Club, the Turtle Creek Navy and the Belvidere Moose Club. Since 2007, she lived at Independence Village, where she had many good friends. She especially enjoyed spending time at family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters. Survived by her children, Dian, Dave (Vicky), Denny (Mandie), and Dean (Terri); brother, Donald; sister, Norma; grandchildren, David Jr., Danny, Amy, Doug, Nicholas and Alex; and great-granddaughters, Abigail and Viktoria. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; and sisters, Delores and Dorothy. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, with Pastor Wendell Maynard officiating. Visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites have been accorded.
