ALBERTINE 'TINA' REDMOND ROCKFORD - Albertine "Tina" Redmond, of Rockford departed this earthly life Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, after a long illness. She was born March 27, 1941, in Durant, MS; the daughter of William and Lizzie Redmond. Albertine lived in Rockford since 1960, coming from Durant. She was employed by Aramark Food Service at Rockford College for 22 years before becoming ill. She graduated from Durant Attendance Center. Albertine leaves to cherish many loving memories, three daughters, Cynthia (Ron Teal) Jones, Sonya (Garry) Ball, and Michelle (Demetris) Handy; three sons, Larry, Patrick (Sherry), Marvin (Nicole) Redmond; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Allene Henderson, Ella and Agnes Redmond; two brothers, Henry (Anita) and William Redmond Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special cousin, Gertrude Semster. She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Annie Williams, and Francis Davis; one brother, Robert Redmond. Special thanks to OSF St. Anthony Hospital Cancer Center and nurses on 4 West. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church, 1112 Taylor Street, with Pastor Norris Flannigan officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State Street.
