Nancy Gariepy Obituary

NANCY AMELIA GARIEPY, 50 BONNEAU, S.C. - Nancy Amelia Gariepy, 50, of Bonneau, S.C., went to be with our Heavenly Father after losing a 2 year battle with cancer. She totally amazed the outstanding medical staff at Charleston Hematology Oncology Associates, her family and friends with her vigilance and determination to beat this dreaded disease. Born in Millville, NJ, Jan. 29.1963 to the late Stanley Elman Watson and the late Bessie Amelia Garton. She was predeceased by her 2 year old sister, Tammy Watson; mother-in-law, Lenora Gariepy; brother-in-law, Wayne Gariepy; and his wife, Marjorie Gariepy. She was the wonderful wife and best friend of Roy Gariepy of Bonneau, SC: loving daughter-in-law of James Gariepy Ladson, SC; loving sister-in-law, Beverly Brazell (Ted) of Lugoff, SC; Lea Ann Gariepy of Ladson, SC; Jeremy Gariepy (Jessica) of Mulberry, FL; Jessica Capp (Carney Harper) of Mt Vision, NY; and Sara Oleksik (Steve) of Utica, NY. Loving sister of Kimberly Salamone (Bennie) of Rockford, IL. Although Nancy had no biological children, she was a loving devoted mother to her adopted son and he was the apple of her eye, Marcus Gariepy, also loving mother of Tonya Gariepy (James Mann) of Savannah, GA; Nicole Gariepy (Jonathan Brown) of Bluffton, SC; Jessica Rawlins (Anthony Hopkins) of Bonneau, SC; Tiffany Mitchum (Jamie Finch) of Moncks Corner, SC and Leah Gariepy (Gill Yokum) of St. Stephen, SC. She was the devout grandmother of 10, loving friend to a multitude of nieces and nephews, best friend of Marcy McFarlane and because of her beautiful personality, compassionate disposition and overall love of life itself, she was friend to anyone that she crossed paths with. Nancy believed in living life to the fullest. A true daredevil she loved going to the big amusement parks with her pride and joy Marcus, being turned every which way but loose made the two of them happy. She loved the outdoors, spending time with her "grands", and dearly loved all her "four legged children". She will be sadly missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013, at 11 o'clock a.m. at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Charleston Hematology and Oncology Associates, 2085 Henry Tecklenburg Dr., 2nd Floor, Charleston, SC 29414; Regency Hospice, 2170 Ashley Phosphate Rd., Suite 110, Charleston SC: Cross Generation Station Relay For Life, 1 Riverwood Dr., Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Nancy and Roy,
I'm so sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Nancy since we were kids about 35+ years ago. We lost contact with her way back and in recent years a few of the Watson's have been trying to locate her again believing she was somewhere in SC. I would liked to have gotten reacquainted with her again. There were plenty of good memories growing up with her @ the grandparents house, her Dad and mom's Stan & Bess, and many other get-togethers. I'm fortunate to have a few Holiday Family pictures with Nancy in them. She sounded like a wonderful person who enjoyed family... doesn't surprise me.

With Sympathy,
Doug Watson (Nancy's cousin)
