DONALD JAMES 'JIM' FARRELL, 70 SOUTH BELOIT - Donald James "Jim" Farrell, 70, of South Beloit, IL, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 15, 2013, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born December 24, 1942, in Rockford, Illinois to Donald James and Alberta (Smith) Farrell. Jim was a proud graduate of Hononegah High School and cherished many lifelong friendships. He married the late Susan Farrell on February 18, 1994, in Dubuque, Iowa. Jim also known by many as "Roscoe" was a lifelong resident of the Roscoe/South Beloit area and was employed at Dean Foods Rockford for 44 years until his retirement in 2005. Jim was an avid sports fan, card player and sports card collector who loved an occasional trip to the casino with friends and family. Jim loved to travel, especially out west to spend time with his oldest sons as well as countless trips to Adams-Friendship to spend time with his pride and joy, his three granddaughters, Taylor, Kallysa and Macy Farrell. You could find Grandpa in the stands at several games per week no matter how far or how long it took to get there for his girls. Jim is survived by his three sons, Donald (Julie) Farrell, Richard (Pam) Farrell, both of Belfair, WA, and Gregory (Tara) Farrell of Adams-Friendship, WI; three granddaughters, Taylor, Kallysa and Macy Farrell; siblings, Patricia (the late William) Koenig of Northbrook, IL, David (Trish) Farrell of Kirkland, WA, Bernadine (Jeff) Crall of Beloit, WI, Sandy (Tom Hanson) Smith of Beloit, WI, and Dennis Farrell of Roscoe, IL; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013,in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Reverend Gene Van Galder officiating.
