VENESHIA MONIQUE PEOPLES ROCKFORD - Veneshia Monique Peoples of Rockford departed this earthly life Saturday, July 20, 2013. She was born December 29, 1987, in Rockford; the daughter of Vanessa Peoples and Lee Otis Laster. Veneshia lived most of her life in Rockford, living the last five years in Lombard, IL. Veneshia was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from Jefferson High School later to receive her Associates Degree from the University of Phoenix. Veneshia leaves to cherish many loving memories, her mother, Vanessa (Rodney) Martin; sisters, Aleyshia and Lashunda Martin; brothers, Eddie Vondale Peoples, Odonis, Michael, Christopher Lee and Marcus Martin; maternal grandmother, Carrie Mangruen; paternal grandmother, Georgia Laster; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends, including god daughter, Anijah Tate, best friend, Alexandra Williams, and god mother, Elizabeth Smith. She was predeceased by her father; maternal grandfather, Willie Manguen; and paternal grandfather, John Sims. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2919 19th Street. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State Street.
