M. INEZ R. CARLSON, 104 ROSCOE - M. Inez R. Carlson, 104, died on Sunday, September 1, 2013, Born September 21, 1908, in Roscoe to Walter and Jennie (Belshaw) Richardson. On July 9, 1932, she married Einar Carlson and was blessed with five children. They shared 42 years together before he died in 1974. She was a 1925 graduate of the new Hononegah High School. It was her class that established the Gold and Purple colors. Inez was granted the honor of Grand Marshal for the Homecoming parades, a role she embraced with joy and honor participating still at the age of 104. Her family was especially touched at the respect and love the students all shared with her. She taught piano around the area and played on WROK radio station. Since 1946, Inez was a member of Court Street Methodist Church, and was residing at Wesley Willows where she could often be found entertaining the residents with her piano playing. She touched so many people and will be greatly missed. God Bless you Inez. Survived by children, Judy Peters, Neil (Janice), Bart, and Tom (Susan) Carlson, and Linda (Dennis) Noegel; fifteen grandchildren; 28 great and 12 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband, Einar; grandchildren, Steven Peters and Todd Carlson; in-laws, Sharon Carlson and Kenath Peters. Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 5, at Roscoe United Methodist Church, 10816 Main St., Roscoe. Visitation at 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial at Roscoe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roscoe United Methodist or Court Street United Methodist Church or a .
