LYNN TERRENCE 'TERRY' LAWSON, 57 ROCKFORD - Lynn Terrence "Terry" Lawson, 57, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013, in his home surrounded by family, after a long illness. Born to Leonard and Betty Lawson on May 22, 1956, in Rockford, IL. Graduated from Guilford High School in 1974. Terry worked in hospitality management for over 30 years. He was an avid Ice Hogs fan, enjoyed fishing, going to auctions but especially loved to spend time with family. The world will miss his love and generosity. Member of Kishwaukee Baptist Church. Survivors include father, Leonard of Rockford; daughters, Tiffany Wargo (Jeremy) of Poplar Grove and Veronica Lawson of Caledonia; brothers, Leonard W. (Barbara) of Berryville, VA, Lee (Ron Sam) of Oxnard Shores, CA; sisters, Teresa Colvin (Ron) of Rockford and Marlene Lawson (Dave Veitch) of Rockford; grandchildren, Hunter and Jayde Wargo of Poplar Grove; best friend, Randy Peterson of Virginia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by mother, Betty; brother, Lambert; and daughter, Sabrina Nicole. Special thanks to his father, Leonard for all the love and care in Terry's life from beginning to end. Thanks to Janet Miller and the rest of his church family for their support. Thanks to Northwestern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center for their kindness and excellent service. Thanks to doctors, JoAnn Geiger and Theodore Schock and staff for their expertise and understanding. Funeral service 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Pastor David McDaniel officiating. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
