Evelyn Trammell Obituary
Evelyn Trammell, 79, of Tularosa passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Alamogordo.
She was born to Houston and Lucille Marr on January 6, 1933 in Tularosa, NM. She married the love of her life, Allen (Bill) Trammell, January 27, 1952 and they had five children, Sharon Bednorz and husband Don, Melvin Trammell and wife Jo Lynn, Arlene Rowland and husband Tim, Neal Trammell and wife Cricket and Nilda Douglas and husband Clifton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one child, Neal.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Bill Trammell; two brothers, Don Marr and Gerald Marr of Tularosa; four children; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Evelyn spent most of her life in Tularosa, graduating from Tularosa high School's Old Red Brick Building in 1950 and from NMSU in 1980. She taught school in the Tularosa School system for over twenty-five years. She impacted many lives in the small community of Tularosa as a school teacher and through her volunteer work. Some of those activities include 4-H leader, Old Red Brick Building Society, the Historical Society and her church involvement. She was a Proverbs 31 woman.
A memorial services was held at Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at BLT Farms covered arena; with Pastor Robert E. Smith officiating.
The memorial service was a shared service with her son, Neal Trammell.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
The Trammell family entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.

Trammell family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Trammell taught Homemake. I adored this woman. She never gave up on me and I am so grateful to her for that. Did'nt matter what kind of attitude I was in. Usually bad. You could'nt wipe that beautiful smile off her face, she also insisted on a hug. I'll never forget her.
