Bizzle, Val "Gene" - Ruidoso  
Val "Gene" Bizzle, 87, of Ruidoso, New Mexico passed away in Midland, Texas on February 4, 2015. Gene was born at home in Shawnee, Oklahoma to J.O. and Marcia Bizzle. He graduated from McLoud H.S. in 1945; he joined the U.S. Coast Guard for one year and then the Air Force for three years. After his military service he attended Oklahoma City University for two years, earning a degree in electronics. He met his wife of sixty-seven years, Evelyn Angus, while still in the military in Denver, Colorado. They were married on May 23rd of 1947. Gene grew up on a farm in McLoud, Oklahoma. He not only worked cattle, sheep, and hogs, but was also chief cook and housekeeper for the family. He owned his own television repair shop in Roswell, New Mexico and then worked for eighteen years at Western Auto Electronic Services in Hobbs; he retired to Ruidoso, New Mexico in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, horse racing, and playing 42. Gene is preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Betty and J.O.; one son, Lynn Eugene; two grandsons, Gregory Scott Bizzle and Morgan Garet Looper. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; sons, Paul and Terry; one daughter, Lori; twelve grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. A celebration of Gene's life will be held in Ruidoso, New Mexico at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7th 2015 at J Bar J Country Church at 25974 HWY 70, Ruidoso, NM 88345 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to J Bar J Country Church or Gideons International.
