Alston Ellis passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Services: 3 p.m Friday at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Emtombment: Laurel Land Memorial Park

Alston was born August 29, 1923 in Dublin. He was a graduate of Dublin High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946, he returned to his hometown and married his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Hicks Ellis, on December 24th, 1946; they were married 66 years last Christmas Eve.
He was the Sales Manager at Charlie Hillard Ford for 38 years when he retired in 1985. Alston and Kathryn took many trips and cruises around the world, even attending the Super Bowl in Miami one year and the Kentucky Derby another year. They lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico for ten years enjoying the cool summers and loved being snowed in for many days in the winter.
He was a volunteer at Cook Children's Medical Center, a Shriner, and also served as a past president for the Westside Optimist Club.
He was preceded in death by son, Rick, and brother, Earl Jr.
Alston is survived by his wife, Kathryn, of 66 years; son, Randy and wife, Tami, and granddaughter, Elizabeth, of Fort Worth; daughter, Jana Kay Bural and husband, Bill, and grandson, Nathan, of Alvarado; daughter-in-law, Karen, and granddaughter, Ashley Thomas and husband, Mark; and great-granddaughters, McKenna and Madelynn of Katy; brother, Cecil Ellis of Midland; sister, Jane Mulloy and husband, Johnny, of Midland.
