Wanda Sue Washburn Brooks, 80, of Midland passed away at her home on Friday, June 20, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 1:00 pm, at First Christian Church in Paducah, TX with Brett Hoffman officiating.

Sue was born on March 23, 1934 in Lubbock, Texas to Bruce and Maddie Washburn. She was the youngest of her five siblings and spent much of her life in Paducah, Texas. She met and married the love of her life, Henry Kelly, April 19, 1955. They shared 56 wonderful years together before Henry's passing in 2010. She lived a very interesting life as a bookkeeper and entrepreneur. Sue loved playing bridge, reading, doing word searches and crossword puzzles, and was an incredible cook. She had an incredibly loving, yet stubborn disposition and was very outgoing. She never met a stranger and everyone always felt like a friend when in her company. She will be greatly missed by not only her family, but all those whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her son, Kyle Brooks; granddaughters, Alycia Brooks and Amanda Dial; grandson-in-law, Jaysun Dial; great grandsons, Bryson Brooks, Aiden Brown, and Gage Dial; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings.
