Barbara Cameron Sharpe died March 2, 2013 at Mission Arch in Roswell, NM. She was born in 1918 in Ottawa Ontario, Canada, to John Small and Janet Cameron Small. She graduated from Toronto Bible College and then went on to get her nurses training in the Salvation Army Hospital in Toronto. She worked at the Bracebridge Red Cross Outpost in Ontario until she joined the Navel Forces of Canada in 1944. Barbara was discharged from the Navy in 1946 and went to work at Brookline Hospital in Boston, MA. She and a friend then ventured out west to Haxtun CO. While in Haxtun Barbara met Marlow Sharpe a local farmer and they were married Oct. 14, 1950 at Fairfield Covent Church. They were married 62 years.

The first year of their marriage was spent in Leadville, CO. where Marlow was employed by the Bureau of Mines. They returned to Haxtun in 1952. Barbara was active in the Berean Bible Church and taught Sunday School for many years. In 1983 the Sharpe's moved to Nogal New Mexico and in 2011 moved to Roswell. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Marlow Eugene Sharpe. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Judith and Mike Brazie of Sandia Park, NM, daughter Paula Greer of Roswell and granddaughters Krystal and Tracie Brazie. Memorial Service and Interment will be in Haxtun at a later date.
