Albert G. Colston

SOUTH WOODSTOCK - Albert G. Colston, 77, died Sept. 27, 2008, at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Junction.

He was born in Bridgewater on Nov. 20, 1930, the son of Roy and Luna (Bagley) Colston.

He attended the Randolph School of Agriculture.

Mr. Colston married Beverly DeRosia in 1955.

He worked for a short time at Jones and Lampson Machine Tool Co. in Springfield. He also worked at Holderman's Warehouse and John Deere Store in Woodstock. For most of his life, he was employed in the farming community in and around South Woodstock, working 25 years for Lottery Hill Farm and 22 years tending to his own farm.

He was a member of South Woodstock Rifle and Pistol Club and a charter member of South Woodstock Fire Department.

Mr. Colston enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a son, George Colston of South Woodstock.

He was predeceased by his wife in 1999; a sister, Hazel Colston; and his twin brother, Avery.

The memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at South Woodstock Fire Station.

Private burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock.
