BENNINGTON - Edward Patrick "Ted" Quinlan, 80, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, in Bennington.
He was born June 12, 1932, in Bennington, the son of Raymond and Mabel (Purcell) Quinlan.
He graduated in 1950 from St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, Mass., and in 1954 from Fordham University College of Pharmacy in Bronx, N.Y.
Mr. Quinlan married Doris Trudeau Dec. 27, 1952, in Chicopee Falls, Mass.
In Bennington, he became the third-generation owner/operator of Quinlan's Drug and later continued in pharmacy at Putnam Memorial Hospital, now SVMC, followed by CHP, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of Eastern Draft Horse Association, Knights of Columbus Council 307 and a lector at St. Francis de Sales Church.
Mr. Quinlan enjoyed photography and was an avid fan of the Tour de France, Formula One and NASCAR racing.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Beth-Anne Quinlan of Sunderland, Trude Mann of Bennington and Karen Lamontagne of Keene, N.H.; three sons, Brian of Deep Gap, N.C., Daniel of Jericho and Mark of South Burlington; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two siblings, Arthur Quinlan and Alice Provost.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.
Burial will be at a later date in Park Lawn Cemetery.
