George T. Chamberland Sr.

George Tully Chamberland Sr., 74, of Rutland, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at home, following a long illness.

He was born April 16, 1938, in Rutland, the son of Harry and Mary Chamberland.

He owned and operated Chamberland Rubbish Removal for over 40 years.

Mr. Chamberland enjoyed collecting and repairing antique Farmall tractors, as well as displaying them at the Rutland Fair and in the Loyalty Day Parade.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Jane Chamberland; two children, Donna Hartwell of Rutland and George Chamberland Jr. of West Rutland; a brother, Harry Chamberland of Proctor; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at his home, 106 Forest St. in Rutland. Eulogy will be delivered by the Rev. Holly Noble.
