Hazel E. Baker

PITTSFORD - Hazel E. Baker, 84, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013, at her home in Pittsford.

Hazel was born on December 6, 1928, in Newburyport, Mass., the daughter of Freeman and Ruth (Davis) Hewitt.

Hazel was a member of the American Legion Post 55 Women's Auxiliary in Brandon for 15 years, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1122 Women's Auxiliary in Rutland.

She and her husband, Larry, owned and operated Lahaba Ceramic Studio in Pittsford for many years.

Hazel is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry of Pittsford; a daughter, Patty Daniels and her husband Victor of Brandon, Fla.; a sister, Carol Grey of York, Pa.; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan, in 2012 and a brother, Raymond Hewitt.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford, where family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

A reception will follow at Brandon American Legion Post 55 in Brandon.
